Cuyahoga Falls City Council holds regular meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Under Miscellaneous Business, Finance Director Bryan Hoffman distributed Report 21 to members of council (Report 21 is a snapshot of the city’s finances and it is distributed to council members every quarter so they can ask questions and be informed on the state of the city’s finances). Highlights this quarter include property tax revenue up two percent; county and state revenue is also up and our income tax revenue is up 2.7%.

Hotel/Motel tax is still down 15% (partially due to Covid-19) but the deficit has been decreasing.

Leisure Time account shows an uptick in Natatorium memberships and an increase in Waterworks memberships is expected as well.

Tallmadge Road resident Kenny King reported that he was very happy with the Dogwood Tree planted in his name between the City Building and the Natatorium with a plaque to be placed at the base of the tree in the next couple weeks. King also reported that after the disappearance of his bicycle Saturday afternoon, a local business (which prefers to remain anonymous) had purchased him a new bike, and local bike shop owner Bob Peyak from Wheel and Wrench will accessorize the new bicycle in the same manner as the one that disappeared Saturday.

Committees will meet again Monday, June 6.
